Science should be safe as well as fun, so whenever you are experimenting at home or in a lab, there are some important precautions to keep in mind.
- Read all of the directions before starting the experiment.
- No eating or drinking in the lab
- No horseplaying
- Clean up any spills
- Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes
- Keep your work area clean and organized
- Ask an adult for help if you have any questions
General Chemical Safety
Eyes: Remove contacts if necessary. Rinse with water for ten minutes.
Ingested: Rinse mouth immediately. Drink a glass of water and DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING!
Skin: Flush skin thoroughly with water.
